Leave it to the Japanese to come up with something cool from hypebeasts, harajuku girls, and much much more they add Balloon Dresses to the long list of innovative styles manifested in the land of the rising sun. Rie Hosokai of daisy balloon builds elaborate dresses from the inflated material to create striking haute couture with the unlikely fabric. The latest fashion piece was constructed as part of ‘piece for peace‘ in conjunction with a lego dress Hosokai made of a similar style. The work was produced through a custom type ‘knitting’ of white balloons to gradually build a fragile, but wearable frock, immaculately captured through the art direction of hosokai’s partner Takashi Kawada.
