Photographer Brandon Stanton was down on luck when he decided to stop worrying about his lack of a career and move to New York. Unsure what to do, other than he loved photography he started wandering the city and taking pictures of everything and everyone. After realizing his most popular pictures on Facebook were of the strangers he was meeting on the streets, he decided just to start taking pictures of people and the idea evolved into a human census of his new hometown The idea started as a Facebook page but then grew to its own website with interviews of the photographed people. Now the page has over 700,000 likes on Facebook, has a best selling book on Amazon, an upcoming collaboration with Vogue and has raised 500,000 dollars for charity (no big deal).
